For some very specific PDF input files, processing of these files might cause font rendering issues (typically with X or # characters).

For some very specific (native) PDF input files,

  • open such a file in PackEdge or
  • open such a file in the Automation Engine Viewer or
  • normalizing such a file either directly or indirectly in an Automation Engine workflow and possibly
  • process the normalized result further, e.g., sending it to the FlexRip

might show a different (wrong) rendering of some (typically X or #) characters as compared to the original (native) PDF file (when viewed in Adobe® Acrobat® for example).

What is a Hotfix?

A Hotfix is a software package that you can install on an existing installation of our software. Each hotfix contains fixes for one or more known issues in our released software.

Because there is always a small chance for a hotfix to cause new issues, you should only install Recommended Hotfixes, unless otherwise instructed by your Esko Software Support team.
