Summary
The License Manager does not start up and gives the following error "An error occurred during activation/deactivation/repair".
Symptoms
- The software cannot launch because there are no licenses available.
- The License Manager does not startup and gives an error "An error occurred during activation/deactivation/repair".
Solution
The reason for this error is that the Trusted Storage is broken. The Trusted Storage is a secure and encrypted 'vault', unique per computer containing your Esko licenses.
In the Local License Manager
- Make sure you have the HTML file with your product keys, so that you are able to activate your licenses again. If you don't have the HTML file with your product keys anymore, please contact Esko Support.
- Go to the folder with Trusted Storage files:
- Remove the following files without sending them to Trash or Recycle Bin.
On Windows : Select the file, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and while holding the Shift key, press Delete key on your keyboard and confirm the file deletion.
On Mac: Select the file and hit the following keystroke sequence: Option + Command + Delete, confirm with the dialog that you wish to delete the files permanently and immediately.

- If you cannot delete the files because there is a message saying the files are still in use,
On Mac: Reboot the mac, do not launch your application first and proceed with step 3.
On Windows: Stop the following Windows services first:- EG Station Information Service ( if any )
- Esko Subscription Service ( if any )
- FlexNet License Service
- FlexNet License Service 64
- Open the Esko Local License Manager.
- Activate the licenses again.
