When trying to launch ArtiosCAD (via the shortcut or via Programs), the following error pops up:
Symptoms
The following error pops up and ArtiosCAD cannot be started:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check
your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit)
version of the program and then contact the software publisher.
Solution
To launch the program, an executable, artioscad.exe, is called.
Check under the installation path of ArtiosCAD (usually C:\Esko\Artios\ArtiosCADx.x\Program) for a file called artioscad.exe.
Probably this file is renamed to, for e.g.: artiosCAD.exe.tmp, which is why it cannot be executed. It can be caused by a virus or a manual modification.
Copy this file and run it. If ArtiosCAD starts up correctly, the file itself is still OK.
Remove the wrongly named (tmp) EXE file and rename the copy back to the original name artioscad.exe.
Remove the shortcut on the desktop and create a new shortcut from the correct artioscad.exe file.
An incorrect modification of values and parameters in the ArtiosCAD Defaults can cause critical problems that might lead to severe problems in the correct functioning of the program. Esko cannot guarantee the proper working of your ArtiosCAD installation due to an incorrect handling of parameters and settings. A reinstall might be mandatory in order to restore the original system state. For this reason, Esko recommends that you take regular backups of the ServerLib (Shared Defaults) folder, the database and the FileStore.
Please contact your local Esko Support team in case you need more advice related to backups.
