Summary

A group of files will not proof to the workflow defined on the Proof Server in Proof Client.

Symptoms

Proof (Pack Proof) on Pack Proof task or Proof (FlexProof) on FlexProof task:

The tasks rip through Pack Proof and FlexProof/E. The file errors within the "Send to Proof Server" part of the task.

Log file shows the following information:

Entered stage "Waiting for proof server..."

Info: The job was analyzed!

Error: There was an error with the job!

Error message: CPSI: %%[ Error: limitcheck; OffendingCommand: image ]%%

Job has errors!

The Proof client will show the same error.

Solution

First thing to try is to set the PDF Print Engine of the Proof Server to use the Adobe® PDF Print Engine:

  1. Open the Esko Proof Client.
  2. Go to System Manager view.
  3. Highlight the workflow in Proof Client that is giving the error.
  4. Go to the File tab > PS/EPS/PDF section.
  5. In the Print Engine - PDF Print Engine drop-down field, choose Adobe PDF Print Engine.
  6. Save the workflow.

In case the previous solution wouldn't help, then also adjust the workflow to send smaller file size.

  1. Open the Esko Proof Client.
  2. Go to System Manager view.
  3. Highlight the workflow in Proof Client that is giving the error.
  4. Go to the Edit pull down menu and choose Copy.
  5. Go to the Edit pull down menu and choose Paste. Give the new workflow a new name.
  6. Go to the Speed section of the Workflow view and set to Standard.
