What are the different access rights that can be assigned to an Esko ID user using the Manage Roles option on the Manage Esko ID portal and what features does it unlock for the user?

Answer

There are currently six types of access rights that can be assigned to an Esko ID using the Manage Roles option. The available roles are as follows:

The user role...Enables the Esko ID user to...
Organization OwnerPerform all administrative tasks available on the Esko ID portal. This user is the administrative owner of all the organization's Esko IDs and will delegate to others in his organization. This user can also assign Roles to other users.
Organization Co-Owner

Perform all the actions the Organization Owner can, except for assigning additional Organization Co-Owners.

Purchaser

Use the Esko Store to purchase software and hardware, to view invoices, and to cancel subscriptions.

By default, all Esko ID users can purchase from the Store regardless of their roles. However, the Organization Owner can enable a policy on the Settings page to restrict purchasing to certain Esko ID users with the Purchaser role.

Software Admin

Use My Software to view and download available software releases.

By default, all Esko ID users can download software from My Software regardless of their roles. However, the Organization Owner can enable a policy on the Settings page to restrict downloading to some Esko ID users with the Software Admin role.

License Admin Use My Software to view, download and assign software licenses and subscriptions.
Multi-site

This role is only available for companies with an Enterprise contract option. It will only be visible to those users. If you require access to our enterprise-level management features, please contact Esko Support.

Use a site selector feature on Esko tools and websites to:

  • View or manage all sites within a company on the Manage Esko ID portal.
  • Make purchases for multiple sites in the company.
  • Manage software downloads and licenses for multiple sites in the company.
  • Create and follow up on support cases for multiple sites in the company.

How to assign roles to Esko IDs

If you have claimed the Organization Owner role, the Manage Roles option becomes available to you: 

  1. Navigate to https://id.esko.com and sign in with your Esko ID.
  2. Click Members in the main navigation bar.
  3. In the Members list that appears, click the Manage Roles link.
  4. Assign one or more roles as required. 
  5. Click Save.
