Summary

On Windows, if you open Adobe® Illustrator® without a Studio license and simply close it, it is not possible to open Illustrator again.

Symptoms

This is the case on Windows with Studio 20.0.1.

When launching Illustrator again, you will see this message:

A previous session of Illustrator is still in the process of quitting. Most likely the process is running in the background.

Solution

Kill the Illustrator process or com.adobe.AdobeSplashKit.GraphicWindowsClass in the Task Manager.

Please also download and install a Studio 20.0.1 containing a fix for this issue.
