KB188222386: Automation Engine - ERROR " xxx.pdfpla is normalized with a higher software version and can not be opened as Normalized PDF file"

Symptoms

When processing a PDFPLA file in Automation Engine, this error appears in Details and in log: 

"xxx.pdfpla is normalized with a higher software version and can not be opened as Normalized PDF file."

Also when sending this file to RIP, this error will show during pre-RIP processing.

Solution

Probably, the PDFPLA file contains native PDF files (among normalized PDF files).  The layout should be created in Plato with only Normalized PDF files.

This type of PDFPLA may also be generated by Gang Run Printing queues, where the input PDF files do not need to be Normalized. These resulting PDFPLA files are fine as input to the "Export Gang Run Layouts" task, but will throw the above error when processed by other tasks.
