Summary
After installing PackEdge on a new computer, unable to save files. The tools are greyed out.
Symptoms
File opens without any errors. When trying to save the file, these errors show in the message window.
X Cannot write scratch file. X System Exception during save.
VDTL variable added gives further messages:
Cannot write scratchfile C:\Esko\bg_prog_packedge_v200\dat\dataresources_lwbrixusr.cfg\PACKEDGE_V200\009224\pdfout_scratch9224_104542 SYSTEM ERROR C0000005
Solution
- Create a folder to be used for temporary files. Example:
C:\Temp. - Open PackEdge.
- Go to Edit > Preferences.
- Set Folder Temporary Files: <browse to the folder you selected to store temporary files>.
- Close PackEdge and relaunch.
