Summary

Task (e.g. Import JDF Step & Repeat) fails with the following messages for all files that run through the task using certain SmartMark set.

"ERROR: Imagemark: Could not load definition E:\Esko\bg_data_marks_v010\dat\xxx.pdf"

"ERROR: Problem occurred while running imagemark"

Symptoms

The Task log shows the following messages:

"ERROR: Imagemark: Could not load definition E:\Esko\bg_data_marks_v010\dat\xxx.pdf"

"ERROR: Problem occurred while running imagemark"

Solution

The SmartMark set used by the task, references an ImageMark. The above error appears when the ImageMark is moved or not found in the original folder. To resolve this issue, follow either of the methods given below:

  • Search for the referenced ImageMark and copy it back to the original folder (here E:\Esko\bg_data_marks_v010\dat\).
  • Re-open the SmartMark set in PackEdge or Plato and browse to the missing referenced ImageMark. Check the marks and if ok re-save the SmartMark set via Production menu > SmartMarks.
