Summary

While installing Automation Engine on Windows 7, the error "Fatal error occurred in determination of Windows version" appears.

Symptoms

When you run the Setup.exe from the prerequisite DVD on a Windows 7 system, you may get the following error messages:

Checking Windows version ...
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
Missing operand.
Missing operand.
Missing operand.
ERROR - Fatal error occurred in determination of Windows version.

Solution

The executable may be running in the Windows XP compatibility mode. Right click the Setup.exe and check the compatibility, change it to the correct Windows version.

Also, copying the contents from DVD (or ISO) to the local disk, may help in bypassing this error.
