After a fresh installation, you might not be able to start the WebCenter JBoss or Cad-X services due to a login failure.

This issue occurs when the account BGSYSTEM does not have the right to log on as a service.


When you try to start the JBoss or Cad-X service, you see following the error message:

Windows could not start the WebCenter JBoss Application Server
service on Local Computer.

Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure.


To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Properties... dialog for the JBoss Application Server service.
  2. Go to the Log On tab.
  3. Re-enter the password for BGSYSTEM in the Password and Confirm password fields.
  4. Click OK. If prompted to grant BGSYSTEM 'log on as a service' rights, confirm.
